Freerice.com: Building our vocabulary while fighting hunger

A Facebook friend of mine (had to say it, because I do not socialize with her other than through the Internet) posted this web site that I thought was of interest to us word people. Freerice.com is a site that offers multiple-choice quizzes on vocabulary for those who visit it. Not only does this web site help your vocabulary, but for every word you answer correctly, the web site donates 20 grains of rice to the United Nations Food Program. So, if you are wondering whether "jocose" means merry, underwater, singing or fish-eating, give this site a visit. It will help build your vocabulary for a good cause. What more could we aspiring journalists ask for?

Hello, another great charity site is aidtochildren.com.

AIDtoCHILDREN.com is a dual-purpose site for building an English vocabulary and raising money for under privileged children in the most
impoverished places around the world.
